G.I. Joe is a term originally used to refer to American soldiers, particularly during World War II. It later became widely known as the name of a line of military-themed action figures produced by Hasbro, as well as related comic books, cartoons, and movies featuring a fictional elite military team fighting against the evil organization Cobra.
